I was fortunate in that from a very young age I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. After receiving my first camera as a birthday present when I was 10, I soon discovered what an amazing medium photography was. I have never forgotten the very first time I saw an image appear in a developing tray and the excitement I felt at what a magical process it was and the endless possibilities it presented to be creative. My love of black and white photography in particular saw me spend many hours in the darkroom working with film, honing my skills and chasing the perfect black and white print. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Photography from The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, I started working in the fields of fashion and portraiture, and I have never looked back. Not too many years later, I founded The White Space Photographic Studio in Fitzroy which serves as my photographic ‘heaven’ and which I also run as a day hire studio for other photographers. More recently, I embraced the evolution of photography into the digital age and the many wonders which this exciting new medium and all of its technology affords me.
